Staff Accountant – As a new hire, primary responsibilities include assisting with general tax, audit and accounting engagements.  A sample of typical first year duties include:

  • prepare financial statements

  • prepare individual, corporate and partnership tax returns using ProSystem fx tax software

  • set up depreciation and amortization schedules

  • review general ledgers for adjustments

  • prepare trial balances and propose adjustments & reclassifications

  • reconcile accounts.

Senior – Primarily work with proficiency in tax returns, tax research, general auditing standards. Supervise both audit and unaudited engagements.   Develop client relationships and loyalty.  Senior staff have passed their CPA exam.

 

Supervisor – Plan, supervise, and complete routine engagements, develop expertise in assigned areas and supervise staff and seniors in those areas. Assist with firm administrative functions.    Develop and maintain client relationships.

 

Manager -   Plan, supervise, and complete complex engagements, supervise both staff accountants and seniors, provide feedback and evaluate employee progress.   Become experts in assigned area.   Develop clients and relationships that are beneficial to the firm.

 

Shareholder – Provide firm leadership through example, ultimately responsible for all engagements performed under them.   Attract and develop new clients, maintain an appropriate level of technical expertise.
