Members of #TeamKPM learned a lot at the #KPMSponsored Women’s Brunch hosted by The Doula Foundation. Did you know that this local non-profit has helped more than 3,000 women since it was established? Not only do doulas provide support and resources for expectant mothers and their families, they also now provide postpartum services. It was amazing to gain a historical perspective from one of the co-founders and also listen to the story of a mother who benefited from their services. Thanks to this amazing organization addressing red flag issues in the community through their support and services, 95 percent of those they serve have had full-term babies/babies with standard birth weights! With the standard cost of neonatal intensive care for a newborn at around $200,000, they are providing such valuable resources before, during, and after a mother is expecting. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy delicious food from Hickory Hills Country Club while supporting amazing mothers in #SWMO! #KPMCARES
